OVERVIEW OF EMPLOYEE VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Through our outreach organization, Northern Colorado Shares, we coordinate projects within Northern Colorado with a 90 day focus of giving back to our community.

WHY OUR COMPANY VOLUNTEERS

Volunteerism is one of the core values in our business. By encouraging and providing opportunities to live joyfully and give generously within our communities, there is a true WIN-WIN: being able to help out those who are less fortunate while at the same time facilitating a volunteer’s desire to give back.

BIGGEST VOLUNTEER ACCOMPLISHMENT IN 2014

This was the 11th year for our Gift of a Green Christmas Tree project, which provides a fresh cut Christmas tree with all of the trimmings to families who otherwise would not be able to afford one. This year, we delivered 372 Christmas trees throughout Northern Colorado. We partnered with the Colorado State Forest Service to harvest trees for a forest management project in Pingree Park. We organized and orchestrated 50+ teams of volunteers (over 200 people) on Saturday, December 6th to deliver the trees and brighten over 1500 individual lives with a little Christmas magic.

A STORY WE WOULD LIKE TO SHARE

Every year, our Gift of a Green Christmas Tree project continues to grow and touch lives. This year was no different. One small gesture, the gift of a spindly little Christmas tree with twinkling lights and beautiful ornaments, can mean everything to a family. This year we had the honor of delivering a tree to a family that had never had a Christmas tree before...it was even the dad’s first tree EVER! He couldn’t stop smiling!

WHERE WE HELPED IN 2014

Besides the Christmas tree project, this was a great year for the Community Garden at Redeemer, which benefits the Food Bank of Larimer County. 6017 pounds of fresh produce was donated this growing season from the garden. We look forward to adding an orchard in 2015 and another successful growing season at the garden this year and for many years to come.
